What can be better than brunch being served all day, everyday?

If it wasn't for Lemon, Middle and Orange popping up on my instagram (spooksnbubbles), I would not have known this hidden gem existed in Collingwood.

Firstly, I must say I like the name of the cafe. Their sign is yellow and the table up back has a big bowl of LEMONs, its in the MIDDLE of nowhere (hidden away, a good thing), and the ORANGE on the upturned paint cans are awesome. Anyways, that's just my take on the name of the cafe.

Over the weekend, a girlfriend and I popped in for an impromptu brunch. The place was packed but it did not take long for us to be seated as we didn't mind sharing a table with some other diners.

Whilst browsing through the menu, we ordered a Latte (hers) and a Hot Chocolate (mine). I must say, the customer service here is excellent. The waiters are very friendly and helpful.

To be honest, I wanted a fair few items that were on the menu but had to decide on one, low and behold I picked Lemon's signature dish on the menu without knowing. We were informed that there was a 30 minute wait on the food but it didn't matter by the time the food arrived because it looked so tasty.

W ordered the croquettes of the day with poached eggs plus a side of mushrooms :)

her meal: croquettes (pea, ham and gruyere)

As for me, I ordered the house hot smoked plum cured Tasmanian salmon, potato latkes, poached eggs, fennel, horseradish creme fraiche. Boy, I was not disappointed. The eggs were perfectly poached, the salmon was beautifully cured and everything worked in harmony on the plate. It was so tasty that I demolished my meal in a jiffy.

this is what I call YOLK PORN :)

If I had a bigger stomach, I would have totally ordered the waffles to share with W but I was way too full.

I really enjoyed my brunch date with W and I really like what Lemon, Middle and Orange had to offer on their menu, everything just sounds so tasty. I'll just have to come back for another brunch date and eat everything else!
